Tuesday June 6th, 2006.

Up at 7am.  Jump on the moped and head out to see the Kampos area of Chios.  This is an area with HUGH Mansions and Estates from the 14 & 15 Centuries.  Many are abandoned and recently many brand new Mansions are being built.

I stopped & picked up 2 Traditional Cheese Pastries & and Orange Juice for Breakfast/Lunch (3.5E).  At 9:30am  I head back and drop off the moped.  Back to the room, shower, nap, pack.

At 11:30am.  I check out of the room. (Don lets me leave my bag at the Dominita and pick it up when I go to catch the ferry. THANKS DON!)   I stop for an Iced Coffee (2.5E) at a waterfront cafe.  Read and chill out.  Then I hit the internet place for almost 5 hours (9.4E).  And eat dinner there (my cheese pie and an Iced TEa for (1E).  

I also find out from an Email from my sister that a BIG mudslide just missed my house and car.  It wipped out my parking lot and drive way though!  (It was a water main break up on the hill).   Hopefully the Town and/or the water company will repair my driveway/parking lot before I get home.  As of now, my truck is parked on top of a cliff!  (The drive way was washed away).    Life is humorus some times eh?

I walk down to the port and sit in the sun for an hour.  (It has been chilly today).  I also score my ticket from Limnos Island to Samothraki Island (for Thursday Morning at 6:30am....... Yikes thats early!) (12.5E).    I kill some more time at a waterfront cafe and drink and 8oz Pepsi (2E).  Then back to Chios Rooms and pick up my bag.  It is 8pm, the ferry leaves at 9pm.

WRONG!   The ferry is late tonight.  Won't be in until 11:30pm.  So I sit and read at another waterfront cafe and have a Grapefruit Juice. (2E) & wait for the Ferry.

It manages to wheeze into port and off we go.  We depart at midnight.  On the good side, I have a 4 bunk room all to my self!  Yea!  A little perk to brighten my day!     I read and am asleep at 12:30am.
