Week 16
I didn’t have very much to drink last night but managed to walk right into the massive bus stop at the end of our road on Sunday morning. Richard and Greg didn’t laugh which was very admirable of them both, it was well embarrassing and it bloody hurt! We got the bus to Bondi, had breakfast (well it was 2pm) then set off on the Bondi to Coogee walk, the views are beautiful, I’ll have to do the opposite direction (Coogee to Bondi) as the views will be totally different! We spent the evening in the CBH at Coogee, then brought Pizza home from Made in Italy! I have a 4inch square bruise on my thigh and its still developing!

I went to work on Monday while Greg and Richard wandered about in the city. I feel really settled in Sydney, I know my way around, I’ve got a nice flat, a pretty good job and thankfully I’ve got lots of friends here, so I wouldn’t swap places with them for the world!! Becca and Jonno arrived (I’ve been friends with Becca since I was two so its great that we’re going to be here at the same time) in Sydney, unfortunately Colin didn’t do the whole tour guide bit like I’d done for Greg and Richard, so it took them all their time to get a bus and find the YHA at Central, we met them and took them to China town for a meal then to Watershed for a drink. It was a good laugh being with people from home because we all understand each other and don’t take the piss out of each other’s accents, plus we all know the same people and places etc! Greg and Richard moved into Wake Up on Tuesday and Simon returned on Wednesday. James at Adstream actually asked me I came with an interpreter and he’s originally from Yorkshire – what a cheek!

Met Greg and Richard in the Establishment on Thursday night, with Thien, Mel and Simon then we got a taxi to Newtown and met everyone in the Sandringham before going to a Thai restaurant for Chris Scouser’s Birthday, there was loads of food and alas the no carb diet went out the window again!! I organised Pizza for everyone at Adstream on Friday, which was nice because we all sat and ate together. Kerrie Emmerson rang me later while I was on my way home from work, she had been on friends reunited and had been looking out for me in Pyrmont. It turns out that she lives at the end of my road!! We agreed to meet up but said we’d probably bump into each other now! I went to the Arthouse on Friday night to meet Fiona and the girls, Becca and Jonno came to meet us but couldn’t get in because they had trainers on so we went back to the flat and Colin and Paul etc brought them some shoes so we could all get into Slip Inn. Becca and Jonno went home early because Jonno was in agony – he’s lost half his tooth (ouch!) I went to Three Wise Monkeys then Scruffy Murphies with Colin and Seth etc.

On Saturday I walked into the city with Simon and Chris (from Newcastle), then we drove to Newtown for food shopping. Becca, Jonno, Greg, Richard, Chris and Roger came round to ours and we played a drinking game where you take turns blowing cards off the top of a wine bottle and the person who blows the last one off has to down a shot – naturally things got messy!! Two card challenges were also introduced which resulted in a lot of shots been downed in quick succession!! We were meant to go to watch the Beattles tribute band but I’d got the dates mixed up and it was actually opera on that night which as you can imagine didn’t interest the lads!!! Helen rang me to offer me her tickets to see Coldplay in Byrom Bay next weekend because they can’t make it, so Roger is going to drive me up in Chris’ car!! Simon, Chris, Chris and Roger went to Balmain to meet up with some friends and the Wigton lot went to Cargo where we met Katie and Paul (Katie’s auntie used to work with Greg in Manchester), they’ve just emigrated over here and are both a really good laugh. Becca and Jonno went back to Coogee as Jonno’s tooth (or what’s left of it) was still playing up, the rest of us went to Home and were there until after 5am when Greg and Richard walked me home!
