China was my second trip outside of North America and Europe.
This time I met up with Paul in Beijing. We stayed in Beijing for a few days, then caught a train downto Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors.
After that, we visited Guilin, Yangshuo, Guangzhuo and Kong Kong. From Hong Kong, we flew to UlaanBaatar in Mongolia. We met our guide at the airport and were driven out into the countryside, where we camped in a ger (the traditional Mongolian nomad tent).
We spent a few days in Mongolia, then rode the train back to Beijing. After a couple more days in Beijing, we flew home, me to Vienna, and Paul to Houston.
China may have been my favorite trip yet. Those three weeks were amazing. |
