The queen charlotte trek is usually a four day trek but I did it in three days because I'm such a badass. Unlike the other treks in new zealand it does not have huts but is in an area that is somewhat developed along the coast so I stayed at hostels along the way. I booked them in advance and just assumed it was three days nobody told me that most people take four. It was quite knackering the first day was nine hours the other two seven. Pretty scenic huh?
